Kenpo Fragments is an attempt to document and preserve a martial art I studied called Ryukai Kenpo. I was taught this martial art in an informal, non-commercial environment, without any overarching organization by a fellow named Rick Delaney, who was in turn apparently a student of Tanaka Noriyuki. I have no idea how much of what I learned is based on a lineage as opposed to being an invention or modification for our group, but research on the web has pointed to some interesting connections and implications.

I trained in this martial art actively from 1988 to 1996 (I now study kung fu and tai chi). I am starting to forget what I knew and the documents I have are yellowing and fading, so this journal will serve as a kind of archive. I am interested in the perspectives of other martial arts buffs.
